Banksia prionotes, known as orange banksia, is a native plant to Western Australia from the Proteaceae family. Shrubs can grow up to 10 meters tall. The flowers resemble acorns, with a rough, textured surface near the stem and a smooth top. This is why it’s also called acorn banksia”. Prionotes comes from the Greek word prion meaning saw, referring to the plant’s sharply serrated leaves.
