Helichrysum Italicum, also known as life everlasting, immortelle, Italian strawflower or curry plant, is a plant from the Asteraceae family, native to the Mediterranean region. It grows on sandy or rocky terrain. Helichrysum Italicum is successfully used in herbal medicine. The inflorescence is formed by small yellow flowers with tiny petals gathered in corymbs. The inflorescences of curry plant resemble the sun in color and shape, which is suggested by their name: Helios-sun, chrysos-gold. The dyeing process makes immortelle available in many colour variants.
