Common teasel (Dipsacus fullonum), also known as wild teasel or fuller’s teasel, teazel or teazle, is a species that occurs almost all over Poland. It can also be found in other European countries, North Africa, and Western Asia. A teasel is sometimes mistaken for a thistle. The teasel owes its menacing appearance to the thorns that cover the stem. The hostile image is reinforced by crowns of thin, pointed leaves raised upwards, surrounding an oval, prickly inflorescence from below. This unfriendly form does not interfere with its decorative function. Dried teasel can be a decoration on its own or be complemented by other plants.
