What is preserved foliage?
Preserved plants are natural plants that have undergone a stabilisation process. This involves replacing the natural plant juice with a special composition of glycerine and other natural preservatives and colourings, or soaking dried plants in such a solution. This keeps the plant fresh in appearance, elasticity and colour for many months or even years.
What are the advantages of preserved foliage?
Preserved plants:
- are durable: They do not wilt and retain their form and colour.
- look natural: They look like living plants, but do not require care.
- are versatile: They can be used to create all kinds of decorations, such as moss paintings, green walls, centrepieces or vase compositions.
- are maintenance-free: They do not need to be watered, fertilised or cared for.
- are eco-friendly: Natural ingredients are used in the stabilisation process.
Which plants are most commonly preserved?
- Mosses
- Amaranths
- Ferns
- Eucalyptus
- Foliage (e.g. ruscus, ivy)
- Flowers (e.g. roses, hydrangeas)
Where to buy stabilised plants?
Buy from us, of course! We import plants from various parts of the world to ensure a variety of products, proven quality and attractive prices.
How to care for preserved plants?
Preserved plants require no special care. Some plants only need to be gently wiped once in a while to remove dust. Contact with water and sunlight should be avoided. Preserved plants need a humidity level of 40-60%, which is exactly what is recommended at home. Dry air causes the plants to dry out and lose their shape.
