Preserved barba, also known as nasella tenuissima or stipa tenuissima, is commonly called Mexican feather grass, needle grass, or ponytail grass. Its slender, thread-like blades resemble needles, while its inflorescences evoke feathers or horsetails.
Preserved barba lacks inflorescences and has smooth culms that reach 80 cm in length. The preservation and dyeing process gives the plant a beautiful, vibrant colour and allows the grass to retain its natural appearance for a long time. Preserved grass looks stunning in a tall vase as a standalone decoration in a minimalist style. It adds lightness and volume to bouquets and other floral arrangements.
